Helping the Modern Dental Practice Recognize Certain Ethical Issues

Sean`s course will discuss some of the ethical issues currently facing dental practices, and provide attendees with options to consider for these various ethical issues. The format for the course, which involves real world hypotheticals, is meant to be both entertaining and engaging.

Learning objectives include, but are not limited to, options to consider for such issues as: requests for inappropriate treatments, supervising dental team members, furnishing dental records, disclosing conflicts of interest, and dental marketing.

Sean Murphy

Sean Murphy currently serves as the CEO for the Harris County Medical Society (HCMS), the country`s largest county medical society, representing approximately 13,000 Texas physicians in the Houston area. In his role, Sean works with the 24-person HCMS team to provide advocacy, financial savings, informational resources, continuing education, and valuable benefits to Texas physicians and their practices. Prior to joining HCMS, Sean served as the Executive Director for the Arizona Dental Association (AzDA) and previously as the Vice President of Advocacy and the General Counsel for the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), and as a result, brings with him a wealth of association and advocacy experience. Sean has lectured throughout North America on various dental topics, many involving the business and legal aspects of running a practice. Sean obtained his Juris Doctorate (JD) from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude while also obtaining his Health Law Certificate, and is a Certified Association Executive.
